Cool On The Exterior, Warm Within
The five people you meet in heaven

Is a simple, nicely-crafted novel which makes you think.
After I finished the book, I lay in bed wondering who the five people in my life were. Or more aptly, the ten people in my life - the ones who would guide me and the ones I would guide. All of us are tied by invisible threads and even without our knowledge, the cause and effects of our seemingly trivial actions play a big impact on the way our lives turned out.
I can think of quite a few right now. Some who encouraged me to strive for greater things, some who dampened my enthusiasm and some who were just there when I made certain decisions. I wonder if they might be the ones.
On a side note, Phantom of the Opera was impressive. The pyrotechnics, gorgeous costumes and beautiful voices blew me away. Though I was taken aback by the Phantom’s looks after he shed his mask! The crashing chandelier was a disappointment. Simply because it swung gently onto the stage instead of that earth-shattering crash I had envisioned. Hah. But I suppose they would have to replace the chandelier for every show if they had done so. Parts from my favourite track of the musical, All I ask of you:
RAOUL
No more talk of darkness, Forget these wide-eyed fears.
I'm here, nothing can harm you
-my words will warm and calm you.
Let me beyour freedom, let daylight dry
-your tears. I'm here, with you, beside you, to guard you and to guide you . .
CHRISTINE
Say you love me every waking moment, turn my head with talk of summertime . . .Say you need me with you, now and always . . .
promise me that all you say is true
-that's all I ask of you . . .
