A copy of the ad that appeared in the ST previously. But I think it looks more arty like that. :p

I can't get Josh to kiss me! =(

Tantalise Josh with words like 'Strip', 'Smooch', 'Pants', 'Love', Gorgeous', 'Flowers', 'Wine', 'Gay' and 'Dance'!

I especially loved his reaction for 'Girlfriend'! Such a hunk! :p

Wedding Bells!

@ 12:18 AM

Been such a long time since I last attended a wedding dinner that I have forgotten how nostalgically sweet it can be...

My gorgeous cousin and her hubby.. I think they took their wedding pics in Spain! Seeing her beautiful pics makes me feel like having my own honeymoon in the likes of Venice or some exotic country too...

They managed to make the cocktail reception rather unique by taking polaroid photos of the arriving guests and enclosing their well wishes on the shots. Made me feel like I was on the red carpet for the Oscars! Here's the shot of my bro and I... Some people commented that he bears a resemblance to Rain, the korean star. Made him high for the entire night! Haha.. but oh pls, don't sully the image of my korean heart-throb!

The door gift.. a pair of male/ female bear! Pretty!!

They showed us a video of how the bride's jie meis prolonged the torture of the groom and his gang of brothers. They had to dress in a bikini top, do a song and dance and finish off a whole plate of extreme wasabi-coated toast! One of the brothers even sustained a nose bleed from wasabi-overload. Oh my!

This young male waiter was in charge of serving our table. Brought back memories of the time that I did banquet waitressing! Gosh.. I was so green then and the experience had kind of left me shaken. The dead weight of the dragon metal for the first cold dish, my grappling with the serving gear, me laying out the wrong-sized plates on the table, behind everyone in serving the next course, the fish-cutting.. Haha what a nightmare. Maybe it's just me but banquet waitressing takes skill alright!

My little cousin who bugged me with endless questions which stumped me throughout the dinner. He just discovered the joys of MSN and having only 4 miserly contacts on his list, he set out on a mission to obtain MSN contacts from all the cousins present. Lil bugger! :p

A shot with some of the cousins. Can't really tell that we are all related rite?

Addictions

Monday, June 19, 2006 @ 4:07 PM

If people like to sniff glue, then I think I am an addict for Johnson's baby bath. Saw a minature bottle of it at Watson's earlier, popped it open for a whiff and I could not resist buying it. Well, not that I need it but that baby fragrance just does something to me. Now, I would not mind if J&J comes up with the same series for body lotion. Likely that I would stock up 10 bottles at home! :p

~~~
Just bought 2 pairs of URS heels for $20 at the most unlikely place. Sizes were depleting but I still managed to find 2 pairs that I like. Yippee! Speaking of shoes, I think I have umpteen pairs that I am severely under-utilising. Thing is, I sort of forget about them when stored away in the closet. If only there is space for a shoe rack of my own... But then, that would be somehow disastrous as my mum will find out about the astounding number of pair of shoes that I own. All girls are shoe-addicts, yes?
~~~

And moles are addicted to me. On a rough count, there's 10 on my left arm, 18 on my right arm and countless ones on my face and body as well. It's not really obvious unless someone scrutinises your face and even I have ceased noticing their presence. My bro went to dot the ones on his face away a few years ago (runs in the genes?) but I don't think I'm going to do it. Seems painful and not worth the trouble.

Jiuan, my fellow loved-by-moles comrade, just told me that these moles are caused by exposure to the sun. Gosh, I am already frighteningly fair! And so is Jiuan.

Moles work in mysterious ways.

First day of exams today. I have no choice but to be an exam-addict for these 2 weeks. Am rather sore that I did not manage to complete the last question but oh well, my two pairs of shoes more than makes it up! Looking forward to more retail and gastronomic therapy in Taiwan soon! Whee!

Finally A Good Deed!

Thursday, June 08, 2006 @ 9:00 PM

I am proud to announce that today, for the first time in my life, I successfully gave up my seat to the elderly. Before you start thinking that I'm an immoral citizen, lemme explain. It was not for lack of trying but somehow I almost always land in awkward situations when my better self surfaces.

I find it uncomfortable when an ah peh or ah ma boards the train and young, healthy me is occupying a seat. Thus, I would sometimes, pluck up my courage and rise to give up my comfy seat. However, these elderly citizens whom I deemed weak and in-need-of-a-seat, are not what they seemed. They have always turned me down and insist that I return to my seat. -_-" How paiseh is that? And like a dog with its tail between its legs, I retreat to my seat meekly, bravado deflating like a balloon.

That's why I often hesitate now before I decide to be a heroine. But today, I'm glad I forged ahead. Thank you, ah kong, for granting my life-long wish. Thank you for putting down your ego to accomodate mine. Thank you! :)

Seems like our moral and civics lessons back in school have really ingrained a deep sense of social reponsibility in us. Just ask any primary school kid what should be done when he sees an old woman on the bus and I bet that he would give the politically correct answer.

On another note, I sidestepped a crawling snail on the steps while on my way home today. While my first thought was that it would definitely be squashed at this rate of movement, the one that stuck in my head was the image of it being dissolved by falling salt.

Went for a lari-lari anak with my colleagues after work and I was surprised when we bumped into 5 or 6 couples taking their wedding shots all the way from Clarke Quay to Esplanade. On a usual day, we would be lucky to catch even 1 or 2 couples.

With 666 being the Number of the Beast, as some religions believe, today is a day of omen. Yet, it seems that superstition has now become a thing of the past.
