Cool On The Exterior, Warm Within
Paying It Forward

The night I turned 21, I got into bed ready to concuss and my head hit something hard in my pillow. Baffled, I reached into the casing and withdrew a tube of choc gello candy (I like!), along with a Happy Birthday note from my bro. How sweet. I'm sure my bro would make a great bf when he is in a good mood.
My bro got a year older recently too. 3 days after mine in fact. That's why we only have one birthday cake if we celebrated yearly. I always thought we were short-changed.
The night he turned 17, he got into bed ready to concuss and his head hit something soft and cushiony. Something foreign was under his pillow. In the darkness, he sure was spooked. He withdrew a leather sling bag from under his pillow, huge enough to contain his laptop. How sweet. He was sure his sister would make a great gf when she is in a good mood.
Tit for Tat! :p

I remember when I was 16, my lovely bunch of NY gals agreed to do something together when all of us turned 21. Which is coming soon in end Aug when dear Mui & YY become adults!
We wanted to go catch a R(A) film together. Which isn't such a biggie now but still, makes me feel so nostalgic. Of those days when we were still so young and carefree, closeted in that all-girls environment where we worried over impending 'O's and when we oohed and aahed together at spotting the G-string of our babelicious form teacher and speculating if she was flirting with a particular ang moh teacher, Mr E.
Those were the days, really.

After the National Day Observance Ceremony in the office today, I am feeling rather patriotic.
"This is home, truly, where I know I must be. Where my dreams wait for me, where the river always flows..."
Pardon my nasal voice.
Happy Birthday, S'pore!
