Mention vices and most people immediately think of smoking, drinking, gambling, whoring etc. In the conventional sense, I have none of these habits at all.
- Smoking: Nah, never. In fact, I abhor the choking, acrid smell of smoke billowing in my face and leaves me gasping for breath. However, ironically, I sympathise with these air polluters with the recent ban on puffing away in public places.
- Drinking: My alcohol tolerance is almost non-existent. I'm knocked out that easily, yeah.
- Gambling: Don't think I'll ever be good at it. Blame my lack of interest on my poor understanding of poker games. I don't think I ever got the hang of it. Heh the only one I remember is 21 points, which i join in sometimes during CNY. (Much more interesting than watching the telly?) But I almost never recoup my losses.
- Whoring: Hmm. Erm. Eh. You get the idea.
Not to say that without these vices, I'm a saint. (Though I am an ex-saint. And our sch's motto was 'Once a saint, always a saint'.) Upon reflection, I found some crippling characteristics of mine which qualify as vices.
- Laziness
: Back in pri. sch, my form teacher put up this printed banner on top of the blackboard, "Procrastination is the thief of time." Ahh, yes, very true indeed. The clean-my-room operation has been in existence since beginning of this year?
- Blur-ness
: Sometimes, I'm really slow to catch on to what's happening around me. Heh but this incident yesterday really beats it all. I finally got myself to go for a jog. And it was only when I had stepped out of my block, secretly congratulating myself on my perserverance, when I felt cool air against my chest. I had, erm, forgotten to wear my bra. Alas, after 2 mins of internal struggle, my laziness kicked in and I thought, oh heck, just run la. And so i went bouncing all the way. Haha.
- Punctuality: All I can say is... Sorry folks, I will work on it!
Sigh, sounds really bad, isn't it? Seems to me that I'm just so not disciplined. Argh, I shall seek my inner zen and soar above my inadequacies. Maybe more yoga? Ohmmmm....
